Organisational profile and constitution:

1. Puducherry Planning Authority (PPA) was constituted under section-11, sub-section (1) of the Pondicherry Town and Country Planning Act, 1969 for the purpose of performing the functions assigned to it, as per the Town and Country Planning Act.
1.1 Reconstitution, The Puducherry Planning Authority was reconstituted vide G.O.Ms No.13/2007/Hg dt: 4-4-2007 of the Chief Secretariat (housing), Puducherry with the following members

With regard to redressal of public grievances in connection with pending applications, the applicants may contact the Chairman and the Member Secretary every Friday from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

Funds and other financial activities:

The Puducherry Planning Authority is a statutory body established under the provision of Town and Country Planning Act, 1969 to regulate the development activities in the notified planning area and this Authority does not under take or execute any projects/schemes. As such the budget of the Puducherry Planning Authority does not form part of the Government Budget and there is no separate Head of Account maintained for the Authority in the Government Budget.

The funds for the Puducherry Planning Authority are derived from its own resources through collection of Application fees, Scrutiny fees, Development Charges, Compounding Charges and Court fees. An authorized Charted Accountant audits the annual accounts of the Authority. Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries also audits the accounts of the Authority.
